The International Criminal Court has sued Hungary for failing to arrest Netanyahu.

The Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court has invited Hungary to defend its failure to execute an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The International Criminal Court announced that the Pre-Trial Chamber has invited Hungary to submit its defense by 23 May 2025, pursuant to Article 87, paragraph 7 of the Rome Statute.

The statement said that the ICC Registry established that Netanyahu traveled to Hungary on April 3, 2025, that Netanyahu stayed in Hungary until April 6 and left Hungary without being arrested. Therefore, a request for precautionary arrest was made to Hungary under Article 92 of the Rome Statute.
